Cycling

All guests are given a bike to use for the duration of their stay.

As The Mudhouse’s land is quite large these days, many guests use them to explore the various trails between the two lakes and to get to and from the restaurant area at meal times.

In keeping with the local concept, our bikes are more ‘Iron Horse’ than ‘Tour de France’, yet they are more than ample for the kind of light exploration we tend to do here.

The land around The Mudhouse is predominantly flat an ideal for exploring by peddle power. It is possible to do a lot of the local excursions by bike, such as the Paramakanda temple and Tonigala rock. Many of the nearby villages and lakes can also be reached by bike, as well as the bright lights of Anamaduwa town, which is just under 8 km away.

We have a range of bikes in many different sizes, including a selection for children of most ages.
